Kevin J. Martin, MD, FASN, BRCU Faculty

ASN Biography
Kevin J. Martin, MD, MBBCh, FASN, completed his medical degree from University College in Dublin, Ireland, an internship in medicine and surgery, and residency at St. Vincent's Hospital in Dublin. Subsequently, he completed a medical residency, a postdoctoral fellowship, and advanced research fellowship in the Renal Division of Washington University School of Medicine. He joined the faculty as an Associate Professor of Medicine and was later promoted to Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Division of Nephrology. He is currently board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and the American Society of Nephrology. He has served as Chairman of the General Medicine B Study Section of the National Institutes of Health, and currently serves on the editorial board of Clinical Nephrology with more than 220 publications in professional journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Kidney International, AJKD, JASN, and Dialysis and Transplantation. Dr. Martin's research interests include parathyroid hormone and vitamin D metabolism, and secondary hyperparathyroidism.
