Charge
- Inform the ASN Council and Board of Advisors about issues of importance to
- the advisory group’s constituents
- Respond to special requests from the ASN Council in areas of interest
- to the advisory group
- Work with the ASN Education, Program, and Postgraduate Education
- Committees to ensure that the Society’s educational activities (Renal Week, Renal WeekEnds, and Annual Board Review Course and Update)—which also includes e-learning, web-based education, and other educational resources—meet the needs of the advisory group’s constituents
- Promote collaboration (and opportunities for partnerships) among the
- advisory group’s constituents (such as research activities)
- Work with other ASN advisory groups, as appropriate
- Facilitate dialogue concerning issues of interest to the advisory group's
- constituents, develop recommendations about these issues for the ASN Council to consider, and publish position papers in ASN’s periodicals
- Ensure that the ASN Public Policy Board is meeting the needs
- of the advisory group’s constituents
- Help guarantee that the ASN website meets the needs of the advisory
- group's constituents
- Assist ASN’s efforts to generate external support for its activities
- Interact with other organizations that relate directly to the advisory
- group's constituents

Term
Members serve staggered three-year terms.
