November 17, 2016 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM

Location: S102

Session Description

This session highlights the realities of putting evidence into practice and understanding what is truly important to patients regarding their care. Do evidence-based guidelines align with patient-centered outcomes? What should nephrologists do when evidence cannot practically be placed into practice? What are the barriers and how can we fill the gaps to ensure optimal patient care? Additionally, this session discusses what evidence-based practices really work and how can they can be placed into practice.

Session Objectives

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1. identify challenges of putting evidence into practice; 2. explain the importance of balancing the art of nephrology care with the science; 3. apply practical tips and tricks of how to apply evidence to daily patient care; and 4. describe “what works” to improve patient care (in the presence or absence of evidence).
