ANCA-Associated Vasculitis: An Evolving Disease

November 19, 2016 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Location: W375A

Session Description

Renal involvement occurs in the majority of patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), and without timely appropriate treatment, may rapidly progress to ESRD. This session describes the major advances in the classification, induction, and maintenance regimens, as well as long-term outcomes of AAV patients.

Honorary Moderator: Ronald J. Falk, MD, FASN

Session Objectives

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1. describe the relevance of genetic studies in reclassifying AAV; 2. provide an overview of recent trials in AAV; 3. determine the most appropriate induction therapy and maintenance therapy for AAV patients; and 4. discuss the long-term outcomes of AAV patients.

Session Acknowledgements
