Session Description

Recent studies have revealed new diseases and new aspects of old diseases caused by monoclonal immunoglobulins. These occur with or without evidence of malignant neoplasia and with or without circulating monoclonal immunoglobulin G. This session updates the pathologic findings, pathophysiology, treatment, and outcome of these diseases.

Session Objectives

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1. summarize implications of monoclonal gammopathies that affect the kidney; 2. recommend therapeutic approaches to monoclonal gammopathies without evidence of myeloma; 3. describe the diagnostic approach to monoclonal gammopathies; and 4. discuss new renal pathologic patterns of monoclonal gammopathies.
