Session Description

Although kidney diseases are very common in cancer patients, most nephrologists have little exposure to several renal syndromes that are unique to cancer patients, including conditions caused by the cancer itself and by its treatment. This session provides experience in the management of unique problems in cancer patients such as nephrotoxicity from traditional chemotherapy, as well as targeted therapy.

Session Objectives

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1. describe the molecular basis of renal cell carcinoma; and 2. explain metabolic reprogramming in cancer.
