Mohammad Saberi, MD

Dr. Mohammad Saberi died peacefully on May 28, 2021 surrounded by his family. Dr. Saberi was a consummate scholar and truly loved learning. He taught the art of medicine to hundreds of medical students and trainees through the decades, winning countless "Teacher of the Year" awards. He dedicated his life as a pediatrician / pediatric nephrologist to the care of children in the communities in which he lived in Shiraz, Iran and in Michigan for 50 years before he retired in July 2017.

Dr. Saberi is survived by his wife, Zahra Moattari, their children, Sara (Keith Kocher) and Sima; grandchildren Cyrus and Camden Kocher and many other friends and family whom he loved.

Dr. Saberi will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, colleagues, and patients. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public funeral services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Kidney Foundation or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
