Friday, January 15, 2010
Thank you for your interest in contributing financial support to Haiti during its time of need.
ASN encourages individuals and organizations interested in contributing financial support to donate directly to entities specifically dedicated to providing disaster relief to Haiti, such as the William J. Clinton Foundation (http://www.clintonfoundation.org/haitiearthquake/) or the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org).
A comprehensive list of organizations collecting funds for this disaster is provided by InterAction through its website at http://www.interaction.org/crisis-list/earthquake-haiti.
Through its Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and Dialysis Advisory Groups, ASN is monitoring the situation in Haiti. ASN has also established contact with other kidney-related organizations, including the International Society of Nephrology, the Kidney Community Emergency Response (KCER) Coalition and the Florida ESRD Network, the National Kidney Foundation, the Sociedad Latino-Americana de Nefrologia e Hipertension, dialysis providers, and industry as well as the US Departments of State and Health and Human Services.
For further information about this disaster, please visit the Department of State's Agency for International Development at http://www.usaid.gov/locations/latin_america_caribbean/country/haiti/eq/. In addition, ASN will continue to provide updated reports.
