Nephrologists Transforming Dialysis Safety

NTDS Luncheon Focus Group

Thursday, October 25, 2018 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM

Room 16 B, San Diego Convention Center

The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and Nephrologists Transforming Dialysis Safety (NTDS) invite you to a focus group luncheon to advance our efforts to improve care and safety in dialysis. NTDS has targeted zero preventable infections in dialysis care. One in ten dialysis deaths results from infection. In 2017, six of the ten citations given to dialysis facilities by state inspectors related to infection control. We need your input if we are to continue to advance care. Continued innovation requires thoughtful, bold and strategic input from experts across the spectrum of kidney care. Small groups will discuss the following topics and provide feedback that will inform future NTDS initiatives: Prioritizing the key challenges in treating patients with kidney failure; Discussing best-practice interventions most suitable for broad implementation; and How to identify leadership in the daily practice of nephrology: qualities most likely to propel, and sustain, improved patient care
