Other Ways to Give

Thank you for considering a gift to KidneyCure, the ASN Foundation. Your support provides vital funding to young researchers, educators, and fellows who are building the future of kidney care.

The following page outlines information on making gifts of stock and various planned gifts.

Please review our Gift Acceptance Policy prior to making a gift or bequest. If you have any questions, contact Melanie Robey, Development Manager, Individual Giving at mrobey@asn-online.org or 202-640-4655.

Gifts of Stock

Through a gift of appreciated stock, you may receive an immediate tax deduction for the fair market value of the donated stock and save on capital gains tax.

To donate stock, please share the following information with your broker:

Comerica Bank
P.O. Box 75000
Detroit, MI 48275
Account Title: ASN Fdn Gift Shares Acct
DTC Number: 2108
Comerica Bank Code 40

Be sure to have your broker/agent include your name with the transfer so that the foundation can properly acknowledge your generosity. A stock donation form can also be found here.

Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account held at a sponsoring charity. Donors contribute to the account, receive an immediate tax benefit, and are then able to recommend grants to eligible nonprofits over time.

The foundation is pleased to accept DAF recommended grants. For recommending the grant you will receive soft credit from the foundation and be included as a donor on the website and other promotional materials (if desired). The grant amount will also count towards your annual and lifetime giving totals.

IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70 ½ years old or older, you may be able to give up to $100,000 from your individual retirement account (IRA) directly to qualified charities, such as KidneyCure, without having to pay income taxes on the money.

It is recommended that you contact your plan administrator to determine if your account is eligible.

Bequests and Estate Planning

A planned gift will support vital kidney research beyond your lifetime. Consider including KidneyCure in your will or trust, or naming the foundation as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, insurance policy, or charitable trust.

Sample bequest language can be downloaded here.

If you have already included the foundation in your estate plans, please let us know by contacting Melanie Robey, Development Manager, Annual Giving, at mrobey@asn-online.org or (202) 640-4655.

KidneyCure is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2012 by the American Society of Nephrology. As a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, donations to the foundation are deductible.
