Session Description

This session identifies new techniques for early detection of AKI and addresses recent studies evaluating therapies that prevent the development of AKI. It discusses early detection, risk stratification of AKI using electronic health records (EHR), fluid selection and AKI, and the perioperative prevention and management of AKI.

Session Objectives

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1. describe novel drugs/strategies to prevent AKI; and 2. explain how early detection influences AKI.
