Session Description

Our world frequently experiences manmade and natural disasters, both in the United States and abroad. The vulnerable ESRD population continues to grow, and nephrologists should know how to care for these patients during times of crisis. This session addresses these topics.

Session Objectives

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1. prepare dialysis programs and their patients to deal with natural disasters; 2. treat a large number of earthquakes casualties with rhabdomyolysis; and 3. manage dialysis-requiring patients in a war setting under limited resources.
