Dr. Beamish is a clinical nephrologist and lecturer at the University of Michigan. He completed his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at Northwestern University and his PhD in biomedical engineering and MD at Case Western Reserve University. His research interests include biomaterials engineering and renal epithelial regeneration.

Katja Jansen
Katja Jansen obtained her MSc in Biomedical Sciences at Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Currently, she works as PhD candidate at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, under supervision of Prof. Roos Masereeuw. Her aim is the development of advanced therapies for kidney patients. She focuses on the use of proximal tubule cells for the fabrication of kidney tubes, and studies pathways involved in transporter regulation.
