Arm Yourself with Talking Points: ASN Fact Sheets

Spread the Word about World Kidney Day and Kidney Disease

ASN leaders will commemorate WKD 2010 by meeting with members of Congress and their staffs on Capitol Hill to increase awareness of kidney disease as a serious public health threat. Leaders are calling attention to profound health disparities in the kidney disease population as part of advocacy efforts. In conjunction with WKD, the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN) will release a new study that highlights the need to reduce disparities in the urban poor population, and ASN produced an accompanying podcast with the lead author.

In addition to spending the day in meetings on Capitol Hill, ASN leaders will participate in targeted radio interviews about the impact of kidney disease, and ASN will publicize its activities via press release as well as editorials in the Society's renowned journals.

Serve as a Kidney Disease Advocate

Even if you cannot participate in ASN's World Kidney Day activities in Washington, DC, please join the Society's advocacy efforts by contacting your members of Congress to urge them to support programs of importance to the renal community. Send a letter today at ASN's Legislative Action Center.
