Mitochondrial Dynamics and Dysfunction in Metabolic Disease

November 07, 2019 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM

Location: 206, Walter E. Washington Convention Center

Session Description

In addition to their role in the powerhouse of cellular metabolism, mitochondrial dynamics and dysfunction play an important role in metabolic diseases. In this session, recent findings on mitochondrial dysfunction that play an important role in the pathophysiology of metabolic diseases are discussed.

Learning Objective(s)

  • Describe the central role of mitochondrial function in pathophysiology
  • Identify key regulators of mitochondrial dysfunction that characterize inflammatory and metabolic diseases
