- How to Help People with Kidney Diseases in Ukraine
ASN has partnered with Direct Relief—a nonprofit humanitarian aid organization that responds to natural disasters and other emergencies—to establish a fund to support the provision of medicines and supplies to people with kidney diseases affected by the war in Ukraine.

- Call on the Federal Government to Prioritize Kidney Health
On April 8, 2022, the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA), the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), and the Renal Healthcare Association (RHA) sent a letter to incoming White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Ashish K. Jha, MD, MPH, urging him and his colleagues across the federal government to prioritize the needs of people living with kidney diseases in pandemic planning and response.

- Kidney Health Advocacy Day 2022
Today, 50 advocates from ASN are on Capitol Hill to meet with lawmakers to discuss the need for increased funding for kidney health research at NIDDK, increased funding to accelerate innovation at KidneyX, and to increase access to transplantation by protecting living organ donors with the Living Donor Protection Act.

- ASN Seeks Nominations for the Annual Election of the ASN Council
The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) seeks nominations for the annual election of the ASN Council, the society's governing board. Qualified candidates should have the vision, experience, and expertise to guide the society in leading the fight against kidney diseases. ASN must receive nominations for the 2021 ASN Council election by Friday, April 22, at 4:00 p.m. EDT. During today's plenary session at Kidney Week 2021, ASN President Susan E. Quaggin, MD, FASN, announced the Barbara T. Murphy Endowed Lectureship. Established by Verici Dx (LSE: VRCI), Renalytix (LSE RENX and Nasdaq RNLX), and the American Society of Transplantation (AST), the new lectureship will honor Dr. Murphy's legacy as a leader in transplant immunology and medicine by recognizing advances in kidney transplantation.
