Kidney Community Advocacy Day 2019 | November 6, 2019

Advocates from ASN and organizations representing the community of kidney care patients and professionals will visit Capitol Hill Wednesday, November 6 to advocate on behalf of the 37 million Americans living with kidney diseases.

Kidney Health Advocacy Day 2020 | April 1, 2020

Advocates from ASN and the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) will be joining forces for the eighth consecutive year on Wednesday, April 1 to visit members of Congress and call on them to advance American kidney health.

113th Congressional Kidney Caucus Kick-Off | March 20, 2013

ASN, ASPN, and seven other kidney patient and health professional organizations hosted a reception on Capitol Hill to launch the activities of the Congressional Kidney Caucus in the 113th Congress. Caucus co-chairs Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) and Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) attended the event and discussed priorities for the caucus in this congress.

Congressional Briefing on Innovation in Kidney Disease | May 1, 2014

ASN and several other organizations co-hosted a congressional briefing on kidney research and innovation in conjunction with Kidney Community Advocacy Day 2014. Congressional Kidney Caucus co-chairs Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) and Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) served as honorary co-hosts, and both attended to address the audience and describe their personal interests in kidney issues.

Kidney Research Advocacy Day 2014 | September 19, 2014

ASN Secretary-Treasurer and Research Advocacy Committee Chair John R. Sedor, MD, FASN, joined other members of the committee and several of the society's advisory groups to visit the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute for meetings to advance kidney research. Testimony before Prizes to Spur Innovation and Technology Breakthrough Congressional Hearing | April 9, 2014

ASN President Sharon M. Moe, MD, FASN, testified before the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee's Subcommittee on Research and Technology about the long overdue need for more innovation in kidney care and also voiced support for federal prize competitions as a mechanism to spur scientific and technological breakthroughs to improve kidney care and keep people off of dialysis.

World Kidney Day 2015 | March 12, 2015

In celebration of the World Kidney Day 2015 theme "Kidney Health for All," ASN released a podcast about the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Community Health Workers Health Disparities Initiative, which aims to reduce disparities in underserved populations.
