Mentoring Resources

Welcome to the ASN Mentoring Resources Page

Overview of Mentoring Resources

The mentor-mentee relationship is a vital part of the medical education experience.

Mentors provide critical professional guidance to early-career colleagues, while mentees infuse labs and clinics with fresh new ideas and diversity.

To help both mentors and mentees in the field of nephrology make the most of this relationship, ASN has developed an extensive set of educational resources. Presented in brief animations, podcasts and other media, we cover how to communicate effectively, find the right mentor or mentee, manage challenges, assess a mentee's understanding, and much more.

We've also included a Career Advancement Community, where you can discuss all issues related to mentoring and connect with colleagues around the globe.

Please take a look at the orientation video for an overview of the many resources available.

Or jump right into the resources by clicking one of the links above.

We'd like to hear your opinions or suggestions regarding these resources. To provide feedback, contact us at: workforce@asn-online.org.

A special thank you to the University of Wisconsin's Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) for allowing ASN to adapt and use their mentoring curriculum.

ASN would also like to thank our many members who volunteered their time for this project as subject matter experts and oversight committee members.
