Renal Hemodynamics and Oxygenation: All You Need Is Blood and Oxygen

October 22, 2020 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: On-Demand

Session Description

Major advances have been made in the cellular and molecular pathophysiology of AKI and CKD, but limited information is available on the changes in renal hemodynamics and oxygenation in kidney disease. Changes in renal hemodynamics and oxygenation increase the susceptibility of the kidney to sustain injury because of oxygen demand-supply mismatch; such changes also have an important role in the recovery and repair from AKI as well as the transition of AKI to CKD.

Learning Objective(s)

  • Discuss renal oxygenation in kidney diseases
  • Assess changes in renal hemodynamics in kidney diseases

Learning Pathway(s)

  • Acute Kidney Injury
  • Chronic Kidney Disease

Moderators

  • Daria Ilatovskaya, MS, PhD
  • Ruisheng Liu, MD, PhD, FASN
