Jay L. Koyner, MD
Dr. Koyner is a Professor of Medicine in the Section of Nephrology at the University of Chicago. He directs the hospital's inpatient dialysis unit as well as the Section's ICU Nephrology program. For the last 15 years, he has conducted patient-oriented research in the area of acute kidney injury (AKI) with a focus on novel biomarkers. He has participated in several investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trials of biomarkers of AKI including, TRIBE-AKI, the FST trial and several other studies looking at TIMP2*IGFBP7 and NGAL.
