Session Description

In this session, presenters with expertise in managing various aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the outpatient dialysis setting share the lessons they learned during the COVID-19 pandemic and describe best practices that can be employed in the future during recurrence of this pandemic or other emergency situations.

  • Describe how the kidney care community responded to the SARS-CoV2 pandemic
  • State current knowledge of COVID-19 in ESRD patients undergoing CHD and best practices to decrease the risk of transmission in the outpatient HD setting
  • Discuss the impact of changes for routine maintenance dialysis care for patients and staff
  • Explain best practices - new workflows - which should continue after the pandemic
