Clinical Practice Session

Reducing Infections in Dialysis Across All Modalities

November 05, 2021 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Location: Live-Stream, Virtual Only

Session Description

Infection remains a leading cause of morbidity in patients on dialysis, with many infections viewed as preventable in motivating the ongoing ASN Nephrologists Transforming Dialysis Safety (NTDS) initiative goal to "Target Zero Infections." In view of this need to continually strive to reduce infections, this session focuses on novel perspectives and strategies to reduce infections in patients on dialysis by covering home and in-center modalities. This session includes the synthesis of risk factors and related solutions informed by diverse populations, organizational and system practices, and approaches for catheter dialysis access.

ASN thanks the Nephrologists Transforming Dialysis Safety Project and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for assistance with this session.
