November 04, 2021 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: On-Demand, Virtual Only

Session Description

This session highlights the emerging tools and approaches to understanding neural control of energy, water, salt, and kidney and bladder function. In addition, discussion includes the role of neural circuits in the control of renal inflammation in hypertension and in kidney diseases.

Learning Objective(s)

  • Describe neural control of sodium balance and salt appetite
  • Outline neuroimmune mechanisms of BP and cardiovascular function
  • Describe neuronal control of bladder function and the pathogenesis of lower urinary tract symptoms
  • Discuss the therapeutic potential for targeting neural circuits in the setting of AKI and fibrosis

Learning Pathway(s)

  • Hypertension and CVD
