Nephrology Consult Service in the Hospital: No Rest for the Weary

November 03, 2022 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Location: W415 Valencia, Orange County Convention Center, West Building

Session Description

The nephrologist is integral to hospitalized patient care. Clinicians must be able to provide cutting-edge care for complicated patients with AKI developing in various disease states. Nephrologists are often consulted emergently for patients with decompensated cirrhosis, aggressive lymphoma, advanced heart failure, and serious sepsis with multiorgan failure. This session describes the tools nephrologists can use to quickly make a diagnosis and form a management plan. Discussion includes complex interventions and when a palliative approach is appropriate.

Learning Objective(s)
