Building Capacity to Collect Patient Preferences Information for Innovative Kidney Devices

Session Description
FDA encourages the incorporation of patient preference information in the development of medical devices. The Kidney Health Initiative (KHI) developed, fielded, and will disseminate results of a survey instrument that would determine the maximum acceptable risks of patients on dialysis for a future wearable dialysis device. This event discusses the FDA guidance for collecting patient preference information, reviews methodological approaches, formative qualitative research, results of the research, and discusses the risk and best practices for online surveys.
