Kidney Week

Basic/Clinical Science Session

New Look at Antibody-Mediated Rejection, Including the Barbara T. Murphy, MB BAO BCh, Endowed Lectureship

November 04, 2023 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Location: Room 115, Pennsylvania Convention Center

Session Description

Antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR) remains the main obstacle to the long-term acceptance of kidney transplant. Our understanding of the mechanisms of ABMR-mediated kidney transplant injuries is evolving. This session provides new insights into cellular and molecular mechanisms leading to ABMR.

ASN gratefully acknowledges Verici Dx, Renalytix, and the American Society of Transplantation for supporting the Barbara T. Murphy, MB BAO BCh, Endowed Lectureship.

Learning Objective(s)

  • Describe B cell biology
  • Discuss immune regulation and humoral rejection
  • Explain follicular T cells
  • Describe cytokines and antibody formation
