Clinical Practice Session
Present and Future: Hypertension and Cardiovascular Risk Prediction in Children
November 02, 2023 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Room 108, Pennsylvania Convention Center
Session Description
With an increase in prevalence of pediatric hypertension, the focus is now on primordial prevention of CVD in youth and adults by identifying predictors of neonatal and pediatric hypertension. This session discusses various predictors of pediatric hypertension, novel biomarkers for cardiovascular risk assessment in children, and the use of machine learning in pediatrics to develop prediction models.
Learning Objective(s)
- Outline predictors of neonatal hypertension and future directions
- Characterize the predictors of target organ damage in youth
- Identify novel biomarkers for cardiovascular risk prediction in pediatrics
- Discuss the use of machine learning to develop risk prediction models in children with hypertension
Learning Pathway(s)
- Pediatric Nephrology
- Hypertension and Cardiorenal Disorders
