Leveraging Technical Advances to Manage and Monitor Hypertension

Session Description

The vast majority of our patients have hypertension, and recent studies have identified improved and novel approaches to BP control. This session reviews several recent innovations in BP as it relates to the management and prevention of CKD and ESKD.

Learning Objective(s)

  • Describe the role of volume management for treatment of hypertension in patients with kidney diseases
  • Evaluate current BP targets and approaches to BP measurement in dialysis patients
  • Discuss the concept of "time in target range" for BP control and how this relates to cardiovascular and kidney outcomes
  • Determine whether cuffless BP devices are appropriate for clinical use in patients with kidney diseases
