Session Description

This session highlights innovative strategies for visualizing the glomerular basement membrane (GBM), focusing on advanced imaging modalities, approaches, and materials that improve our understanding of GBM architecture, composition, and cell-membrane interfaces in health and disease.

Learning Objective(s)

• Explain the power of high-resolution imaging techniques to improve our understanding of glomerular disease
• Describe the use of novel imaging approaches to enhance our view of cell-membrane interactions at the GBM
• Discuss unconventional uses of conventional imaging strategies to improve the efficiency and quality of GBM ultrastructural imaging
• Evaluate the use of subpodocyte imaging strategies to inform the development of targeted therapies for glomerular disease
