Session Description

Managing patients' symptoms on dialysis can be very challenging, and when not managed well, patients will develop poor quality of life, poor outcomes, depression, and overall nonadherence with dialysis. This session reviews innovative ways to manage symptoms from a team approach to provide better overall care and outcomes for our patients.

Learning Objective(s)

  • Specify factors to consider other than body weight when assessing ultrafiltration rate
  • Assess signs and symptoms of vascular access issues and provide interventions in a dialysis patient's care
  • Discuss approaches for increased vaccination rates from a patient perspective
  • Summarize recent data and management of uremic pruritus
