Basic/Clinical Science Session
New Targets in Diabetic Kidney Disease: Experimental Studies
November 02, 2023 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM
Location: Room 120, Pennsylvania Convention Center
Session Description
This basic science session focuses on experimental studies in diabetic kidney disease. Advances in the field are discussed with a particular focus on cell death (NETosis and other), oxidative stress (NADPH oxidase and other), inflammation (inflammasome and other), and advanced glycation products.
Learning Objective(s)
- Summarize the advances in our understanding of NETosis and other types of cell death in diabetic kidneys
- Describe the advances in our understanding of oxidative stress with a focus on NADPH oxidase in diabetic kidneys
- Assess an involvement of inflammasome and other inflammatory processes in diabetic kidneys
- Discuss an involvement of advanced glycation products and their precursors in diabetic kidneys
Learning Pathway(s)
- Diabetic Kidney Disease
- CKD Non-Dialysis
