New Targets in Diabetic Kidney Disease: Experimental Studies

November 02, 2023 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM

Location: Room 120, Pennsylvania Convention Center

Session Description

This basic science session focuses on experimental studies in diabetic kidney disease. Advances in the field are discussed with a particular focus on cell death (NETosis and other), oxidative stress (NADPH oxidase and other), inflammation (inflammasome and other), and advanced glycation products.

Learning Objective(s)

  • Summarize the advances in our understanding of NETosis and other types of cell death in diabetic kidneys
  • Describe the advances in our understanding of oxidative stress with a focus on NADPH oxidase in diabetic kidneys
  • Assess an involvement of inflammasome and other inflammatory processes in diabetic kidneys
  • Discuss an involvement of advanced glycation products and their precursors in diabetic kidneys

Learning Pathway(s)

  • Diabetic Kidney Disease
  • CKD Non-Dialysis
