Kidney Week 2023: Travel Information

Getting Around in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA is serviced by Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The airport is approximately 10 miles from the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Please see below for information regarding travel to and from the airport and getting around the city.

ASN Hotel Shuttle

ASN has arranged a shuttle between select official ASN hotels and the convention center. Please note that hotels that are considered to be walking distance from the convention center will not be serviced by the ASN shuttles. A shuttle schedule and map will be available in August 2023.

Taxi

There is a $28.50 flat rate taxi fare from Philadelphia International Airport to Center City Philadelphia for one (1) passenger. There is a $1.00 per passenger surcharge for each additional passenger after the first. Many companies provide taxicab service at Philadelphia International Airport. If you need a taxi, simply proceed through Baggage Claim and follow the Ground Transportation signs for Taxis/Zone 5. For International passengers arriving in Terminal A-West, take the elevators to the Ground Floor and follow signs to exit the facility on the Arrivals Road. Taxi services will be available there.

For more information on recommended taxi services, please visit the PHL website at https://www.phl.org/to-and-from/taxis-and-limousines.

Uber & Lyft

Uber and Lyft are transportation services that operate similar to Taxicabs. In order to use these services you must have downloaded the phone app and set-up an account before requesting the service.

There is a surcharge added to your fare for airport pickups, this surcharge varies based on day and time. For more specific pricing please download the appropriate app and use the "Estimate Fare" feature.

Train

Downtown Philadelphia is serviced by Amtrak trains and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) metro trains.

Amtrak arrives and departs from the William H. Gray III 30th Street station, approximately 1 mile from the convention center.

The nearest metro stations to the convention center are Race-Vine Station on the Orange Broad Street Line & Broad-Ridge Spur and 13th and 11th Street Stations on the Blue Market-Frankford Line. View the Regional Rail & Rail Transit map online here: https://www5.septa.org/travel/maps/

We recommend that you contact the Philadelphia Parking Authority for the closest lots and garages and for the current rate schedules to assist with planning your visit. These lots are not affiliated with the Pennsylvania Convention Center, but they are located within walking distance of the facility.
