Session Description

This session reviews new knowledge on mechanisms, diagnosis, and treatment of heart failure across the spectrum of kidney diseases, including recent drug studies on SGLT2 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists, and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists.

• Describe the epidemiology of heart failure and CKD
• Explain mechanisms of heart failure in persons with kidney diseases
• Summarize newer therapies in heart failure and CKD
• Discuss challenges in using guideline-directed medical therapy across the stages of CKD
• Describe treatment gaps for heart failure in kidney diseases
