Session Description

This session explores research on the mechanisms of AKI within the framework of cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome (CKM). By examining these diverse yet interconnected pathways, the session sheds light on novel therapeutic targets and strategies for improving CKM and outcomes in patients with kidney diseases.

• Describe mitochondrial dysfunction in obesity
• Discuss the role of AKI on promoting cellular senescence and progression of kidney diseases
• Identify novel genes linking mitochondrial function and lipid metabolism
• Describe the cross-talk between mitochondria and peroxisomes in kidney recovery and CKM treatment strategies
