Clinical Practice Session
Patient-Reported Outcomes: Why (and How) Should They Be Implemented?
November 06, 2025 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Grand Ballroom A, Convention Center
Session Description
Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are increasingly recognized as being important to integrate into nephrology care, especially given the significant burden of symptoms experienced by people with CKD even before starting kidney replacement therapy. Little is currently known about methods to integrate PRO measurements into CKD care and understanding how they can guide clinical care. This session also illustrates how a patient's perspective can shape the future of clinical care in nephrology.
Learning Objective(s)
- Explain how to implement PRO measures in routine CKD care and clinical research
- Summarize patient perspectives on pain and future research
- Develop a strategy to manage pain in patients with kidney diseases
