Translational Session
Iron and Mineral Metabolism: A Complex Relationship, Including the Jack W. Coburn, MD, Endowed Lectureship
November 08, 2025 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Room 332A, Convention Center
Session Description
In recent years, the complex relationship between iron stores management, fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), and phosphate has been unraveled. This session discusses the effect of FGF23 on iron bioavailability, the current recommendations for iron replacement, and the impact of iron supplementation on serum phosphate.
ASN gratefully acknowledges Amgen for support of the Coburn Endowed Lectureship.
