STARS Mentoring Program

We are seeking mentors to provide guidance and help to create a welcoming environment for STARS participants.

How does mentoring work?
  • Mentors will be assigned a small group of trainees based on a special interest category
  • Mentors are asked to lead their groups through at least three activities, including and beginning with a STARS Welcome Breakfast
  • The additional group activities will vary based on the group type (medical student, graduate student, or resident), but may include such events as an abstract poster tour or attending a plenary and/or education session of your choice
  • Each peer group will also be assigned a nephrology fellow co-mentor to assist you and provide further support for the students and residents

A mentor's enthusiasm has an incredible impact on the quality of each trainee's experience at Kidney Week, and it is the goal of the program to inspire participants to pursue nephrology as a specialty.
