Critical Care Nephrology: 2021 Update
Designed for trainees, practicing nephrologists, advanced practitioners, nurses, and other clinicians who care for critically ill patients with kidney diseases, this program reviews principles of critical care nephrology and provides updates on the latest developments. Presentations review topics in critical care medicine relevant to nephrology providers: hemodynamic monitoring and support, fluid optimization, management of dysnatremias, management of acute respiratory distress syndrome, ethical issues, and management of AKI in specific clinical settings.
Discussions of the management of critically ill patients with AKI also include such specific populations as patients who are pregnant and those with liver disease or cancer. In addition, the program covers the short- and long-term outcomes of AKI, how to manage patients with AKI and persistent dialysis needs, and key considerations in the prescription of RRT.
