Kalani L. Raphael, MD, MS, FASN, BRCU Faculty

ASN Biography

Kalani L. Raphael, MD, MS, FASN, is a nephrologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University and VA Portland Health Care System. He is internationally recognized as a leader in the area of acid-base balance in CKD.

A Native Hawaiian, Dr. Raphael is passionate about health equity for members of the Pacific Islander community. He serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Oregon Pacific Islander Coalition, or OPIC, a consortium of community-based organizations that support Pacific Islanders in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Dr. Raphael serves on the ASN Continuous Professional Development Committee and on the Kidney360 Editorial Board.
