Jean Hou, MD, BRCU Faculty

ASN Biography

Jean Hou, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She worked for 10 years at the National Institutes of Health in basic science research studying the pathogenesis of the human polyomaviruses JCV and BKV, after which she completed her medical education at Georgetown University. She finished her Residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as her Fellowship in Medical Renal Pathology at Columbia University Medical Center and completed another Fellowship in Surgical Oncologic Pathology at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Hou has special academic interests in paraprotein and complement-mediated renal disease and ultrastructural pathology. She has written numerous book chapters and first-author papers and is active in several national and international organizations where she has a strong focus on education and training.
