Donald Rademacher, MD

January 28, 2020

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, Dr. Donald Rademacher passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. He had been ill with cancer for some time.

For nearly four decades, Don was a pillar of the Northern Colorado medical community. Starting in 1983, he practiced nephrology and internal medicine at the Greeley Medical Clinic.

Don was born in 1945 to Raymond and Mary Rademacher and grew up on a farm in Grant Park, Ill., where his brother Gene still grows corn and soybeans on the family's land. Don went to Saint Joseph's College in Indiana and got his PhD in chemistry from the University of Kansas before shifting to medicine. He studied medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He treasured afternoons spent hiking around Estes Park with his wife, Mary and fondly remembered long-distance bicycling with his son, Dan.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary; brother, Gene; sisters, Diane and Jan; children, Stacy and Dan; stepchildren, Alicia and Alex; and many grandchildren.

The ceremony will be private.
