As the Rocky Mountain Professor of Renal Research at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, he made lasting contributions to academic medicine through his intellect, integrity, and steady leadership. He also served as Treasurer of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), helping guide the organization with rigor and thoughtfulness.
