Translational Session
Potential Markers for Prediction of Kidney Outcomes
November 05, 2023 | 09:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Location: Room 103, Pennsylvania Convention Center
Session Description
CKD is a major public health problem that is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular and all-cause mortality. Predicting individuals at risk for CKD is an important first step in modifying the progressive course of CKD; therefore, early identification of CKD would provide the best opportunity to implement strategies known to decelerate the loss of kidney function. This session presents an overview of the latest potential markers that could be used in clinical practice to predict the onset of CKD.
Learning Objective(s)
- Examine the data and list common risk factors that are integrated into incident CKD prediction models
- Describe key proteomics used for predicting outcomes in CKD
- Explain the use of precision medicine in the prediction of diabetic kidney disease outcomes
- Examine the implications of next-generation sequencing in clinical genetic diagnostics and the discovery of novel genes in early-onset CKD
Learning Pathway(s)
- CKD Non-Dialysis
- Diabetic Kidney Disease
