Session Description
Kidney transplantation is the optimal therapy for people with kidney failure, and the United States has made remarkable strides in recent decades, but opportunities remain to increase transparency, accountability, and patient-centricity in transplant policy. This session explores actions the US government is taking or should take to maximize access to kidney transplantation and ensure that access is equitable. Experts address shovel-ready policy solutions, delineate why these changes are needed from the patient perspective, and how they will affect general and transplant nephrologists alike.
