Antonio Talusan, MD

May 2, 1930 - September 16, 2017

Dr. Antonio D.Talusan passed away at his home in Lubbock, TX, on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the age of 87. He was born on May 2, 1930, in San Rafael, Bulacan, Philippines. He was married to his loving wife, Dr. Celia Samson Talusan, for 57 years. Dr. T, as he was fondly called, was a distinguished professor in the University of the Philippines and a pioneer in Nephrology and Nuclear Medicine. He spearheaded many educational programs. He started a charitable foundation and hosted a TV medical program, Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko, that aided countless indigent patients. He returned to the United States in 1988 and continued his successful medical career in Baltimore, MD, then in Lubbock.

He lived a long and fruitful life as a physician, educator and medical administrator, farmer and rancher, dutiful husband, wonderful father, and doting grandfather. Those left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his wife, Celia; daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen and Galo Garcia, Karen and Mark Soriano, Janet and Paul Pedro, Yvette and Raffy Tomacruz; grandchildren, Anton, Joseph, Michael, Jacob, Pixie and Alexie; and his surviving brothers and sisters.
