Session Description

This program is the first course focused specifically on diabetes and diabetic CKD. It examines all aspects of the epidemic disease and provides a comprehensive update. Experts cover topics such as the background epidemic of diabetes mellitus, the pathophysiology of diabetic CKD, and current approaches to diabetic CKD and hypertension. The program also discusses new drugs in development; the growing use of hypoglycemic agents in diabetic CKD, such as ESRD; and unique dialysis and transplant problems facing patients with ESRD due to diabetes. After the program, attendees will better understand the epidemiology and management of diabetes and diabetic kidney disease.
