Today, ASN is releasing The US Nephrology Workforce: Developments and Trends. This study and others planned for the future are intended to provide data and information to help guide the nephrology community through this period of transformation in both kidney care and health care delivery. The report identifies several challenges for the specialty, notably a declining interest in nephrology careers among medical students and residents as well as an uncertain job market for recent graduates.
