    During today's plenary session at Kidney Week 2021, ASN President Susan E. Quaggin, MD, FASN, announced the Barbara T. Murphy Endowed Lectureship. Established by Verici Dx (LSE: VRCI), Renalytix (LSE RENX and Nasdaq RNLX), and the American Society of Transplantation (AST), the new lectureship will honor Dr. Murphy's legacy as a leader in transplant immunology and medicine by recognizing advances in kidney transplantation.

  • CDC Awards Cooperative Agreement to the CMSS and Specialty Society Partners to Improve Adult Immunization Rates for High-Risk Adults
    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently awarded a cooperative agreement to the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS), to improve vaccination among high-risk adults with chronic medical conditions, including patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and chronic kidney disease, as well as older adults and staff in occupational health settings. CMSS will partner with seven member subspecialty societies, including the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), who care for these patient populations to support this important work. Funding for this project includes $22 million in the first year, with an estimated $55.5 million over five years.
