Description

Navigating the National Institutes of Health (NIH) can be tricky, especially for up-and-coming scientists. The Program Staff in the Division of Kidney, Urologic and Hematologic Diseases (KUH) within the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) are here to help! This poster will provide tips and tricks for navigating NIH/NIDDK. These include 1) talk to your program officer early, often, before you submit and after you get your summary statement – a recommendation even more critical in the evolving landscape, 2) know NIH roles – program officers, project scientists, scientific review officers and grants managers have different roles and can help you with different things, and 3) learn how to find the best funding opportunity for you.
