Description

The Program Staff in the Division of Kidney, Urologic and Hematologic Diseases (KUH) within the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) are here to provide recommendations for navigating NIH/NIDDK. These include 1) talk to your program officer early, often, before you submit and after you get your summary statement – a recommendation even more critical in the evolving landscape, 2) know NIH roles – program officers, scientific review officers and grants managers have different roles and can help you with different things, and 3) learn how to find the best funding opportunity for you within the new Unified Funding Strategy (https://grants.nih.gov/news-events/nih-extramural-nexus-news/2025/11/implementing-a-unified-nih-funding-strategy-to-guide-consistent-and-clearer-award-decisions). The poster will also provide an overview of the latest policies at NIH that may affect your grant applications.
